Located in lower Manhattan, of New York City.  Wall Street is an actual street where many of the country's financial institutions had their headquarters, as well as being the first permanent home of the New York Stock Exchange.  Still based on Wall Street are the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), NASDAQ ( National Association of Securities Dealers Automated), AMEX (American Stock Exchange), NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange), and NYBOT (New York Board of Trade).  Still considered to be the "hub" of stock trading, many of the larger stock  trading and banking firms have moved out off of Wall Street, many are still in the lower Manhattan area.
